The King James Bible, or as it is more commonly known in Britain, the Authorised Version, through its beauty and grace of language has helped to shape our culture. But it did not come about by chance. It was the result of a long political and scholarly process.

This lecture will explore how it came into being, and will trace the origins of Biblical translation from the earliest times. Christopher Herbert was Bishop of St Albans until his retirement in 2009.

Haslemere Museum and also by Zoom –  £5.
