The internationally acclaimed, award winning Russian-British composer, pianist and conductor, Alissa Firsova, and the celebrated string ensemble, The Tippett Quartet, will perform together in a thrilling collaboration. Alissa, who stunned Haslemere Festival audiences in 2015 with her wonderful recital with Jessica Hayes, will now be appearing as a composer as well as an outstanding pianist. The programme includes her new string quartet, which was inspired by the poems of Alfred, Lord Tennyson and by the beautiful countryside around Haslemere. The programme includes classics such as Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E flat, Op 12, Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A Major as well as Alissa’s exciting new composition.
