2009 winners of Haslemere's Got Talent "Circus on the Hill" Successful Show Returns in Aid of Haslemere Hall” Following the success of last year, Haslemere’s Got Talent returns with an even more spectacular programme of events taking to the Haslemere Hall stage on Sunday 25th April 2010. Have you got what it takes? – Winners of last year’s contest Circus on the Hill certainly have and since winning last June have performed by invitation at several area and town functions.. After last year’s wealth of talent, this year’s show sees fit to be an entertaining and closely- fought contest. Do you have real talent? If you would like a chance to entertain the people of Haslemere and win one of the great prizes on offer here are the details on how to enter: Application forms for audition and copies of the show rules are available from Haslemere Hall or can be downloaded here. If selected to audition the entry fee is £5.00 and successful applicants will audition during the day on Sunday 18th April at Haslemere Hall. For those who would like to watch the auditions tickets are available on the door price £2.00 each. Contestants must be confident performing in front of a lively audience and be aware that a panel of judges will give their honest opinions in front of a live audience both at the audition and during the show. Entrants must be 12 or over and any suitable act will be considered. Auditionees selected to perform will be notified at the audition and will appear in the show on the following Sunday 25th April and will be required to attend rehearsal during the day. The show starts at 6pm and tickets are available from Haslemere box office 01428 661793 or online at £5.00 each. Of the acts taking part, three will be selected by the judges on the night with the audience having the final vote at the end of the evening. Mayor ‘Nails’ Haslemere’s Got Talent 2010 Haslemere Town Mayor Melanie Odell will add her own particular lustre to the 2010 show as a guest act by lying on a bed of nails! Whilst any proceeds from the show itself will go towards the Haslemere Hall Roof Fund, Mrs Odell will be performing in aid of her two Mayoral charities – The Haslemere Educational Museum and the male cancer charity Everyman. Melanie can be sponsored either by direct donation or by sponsoring a nail or more for the ‘bed’ at R. Miles and Son in West Street as the hardware store is kindly donating both nails and the board she will lie on at the show. Melanie is being mentored for her act by Ray Cimino, a former professional circus and stunt performer and one of the three judges for the competition. “We would love to see novelty and variety acts participating, stand up comics will also be welcome” said Ray, best known locally as the owner of The Haslemere Pet Company. RULES Haslemere’s Got Talent (HGT) 2010 will take place at Haslemere Hall HGT is a talent competition searching for the best entertainer not necessarily the most technically proficient performer. Ultimately it is crowd pleasing ability that will win the show. The panel of judges will comment, whether positive or negative, live to the contestant and audience at the final. Comments will be direct and to the point so could upset sensitive individuals. Applications will be considered by a panel prior to the event with selected applicants being invited to the heats and if successful the final. The Auditions will take place on Sunday 18th April 2010. Successful contestants from the heats will be invited to perform at the final which will take place on Sunday 25th April 2010 6pm. The entry fee of £ 5 will be payable on the day at registration for the Auditions. A sound system, microphone and operator are provided for each contestant. A piano will also be available 1. All contestants are responsible for: a. The preparation and presentation of their own material b. Their own accompaniment and/or backing tracks etc. Backing tracks must be on CD or Mini Disk, and it is advisable to have 2 copies of these in good time before the event. c. Any props, specialist equipment relevant to their act 2. The content of the act is the responsibility of the contestant. 3. The act shall be no longer than 3 minutes 4. The content of the act must be suitable for a family audience. 5. The contestant shall indemnify the organisers and Haslemere Hall against any legal proceedings that may arise from the act concerned 6. The promoters reserve the right to refuse any application without any reason given. 7. The promoters reserve the right to cancel the event should circumstances outside their control warrant this action. 8. No naked flame, water or live animals can be used in any act 9. No Mobile phones will be allowed backstage 10. All contestants and participants must be aged 12 or over 11. Entrants must comply with any instructions and behave in a professional manner at all times Admission tickets for the heats and final will be required for supporters of acts and will be available from Haslemere Box Office - book early to avoid disappointment. A parent or legal guardian will be required to accompany a minor (under 18) backstage free of charge. THE JUDGES’ DECISION IS FINAL AND NO COMMUNICATION OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERED INTO. |
