Saturday 12th October @ 7:30PM

[£14.50 (£7.50) including booking fee] Buy tickets online or [box office: 01428 642 161]

The first concert in the Haslemere Musical Society’s 2019 – 2020 season is an orchestral concert in St Christopher’s Church on Saturday 12th October at 7.30 pm.    The programme has a variety of pieces.   Holst’s Two Songs without Words is a beautiful hidden treasure while the Fauré Pavane will be recognised by everyone.  David Farnworth has sadly now left the Society but is coming back to let us hear his skilled rendering of the Monique Oboe Concertino.   This work is not well–known while David’s second piece, Gabriel’s Oboe by Morricone has mesmerised most of us at some time.  The final piece in the concert is the Symphony No 8 in F major which Beethoven referred to as ‘my little Symphony in F’.  It may be light-hearted but it is not light weight.

The conductor is James Ross.

Tickets £14 (under 18s half price) available from the Haslemere Hall Box Office: 01428 642161 or online www.haslemerehall.co.uk
