When their father dies two young children, their dog Woofles and their Nurse, Mary Poppouts, are entrusted into the care of their wicked uncle the Sheriff of Nottingham, who instructs an incompetent duo from “Dirty Deeds Unlimited Co” to kill the Babes so he can inherit their fortune.
Meanwhile the Sheriff’s other ward Maid Marion rejects his advances and has her heart set on Robin Hood who’s taken over the Blacksmith’s forge from Polly Flinders after the aptly named Muddles suggests she should find a job that doesn’t involve hammers.
Can The Fairy of the Woods help Robin and Little John to find the Babes? Will Fred and Herbert carry out the deadly deed?
Bold and boisterous and spiced with sentimentality, Babes in the Wood is a traditional family pantomime that’s great fun for the young and the young at heart.
