Amy Adams stars in Tim Burton’s compelling tale of a true-life art scandal. God-fearing, naive divorcee Margaret Ulbrich (Amy Adams) arrives in San Francisco with her young daughter in the 1950s. She’s flattered by the attentions of handsome Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz) and they marry after a whirlwind romance. Walter than starts hawking his wife’s distinctive paintings of big-eyed women and children to dealers. These quickly become a national sensation and are mass produced to meet demand. But Walter always claims the work is his own, arguing that no one buys women’s art. The couple become increasingly wealthy, but Margaret remains uneasy about the deception, sowing the seeds of a spectacular showdown.
