Dream Horse centres around a middle-aged woman by the name of Jan Vokes (Toni Colette), who spends her days in a hum-drum Welsh village working as a cleaner and a bartender, while also attending to her parents and her slacker husband. Realising she’s living an uninspired life, she decides to get into the horseracing industry for the sake of her happiness. She convinces her husband to help her breed and train a horse to race, while also convincing members of her quiet town into helping finance the horse. This unlikely group led by Jan ends up having a horse that becomes a favourite to win the National Championship.

Dream Horse tells a true story in a heart-warming and charming fashion. It has a perfect balance of drama and comedy that is suitable for a family audience and older audiences.
