Stars: Emma Stone, Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden

Wei Ling Soo is a Chinese conjuror, man of mystery and is hailed as the finest magician of his generation however. But very few people are aware that his onstage alter ego, Stanley Crawford, is a grumpy and ego-centric Englishman. What’s more, he has nothing but hatred for pretentious deceitful spiritualists and so-called “mediums”.

Convinced to travel to the Catledge family mansion in the Côte d’Azur by friend and colleague, Howard Burkan, Stanley dons another persona, a businessman in order to expose the young and aspiring clairvoyant, Sophie Baker. But is the conceited and arrogant magician prepared to meet the allure of the up and coming spiritualist?

Invited to the mansion by mother and widow, Grace Catledge, Sophie promises to help contact her late husband. But Sophie has also managed to catch the attention (and affections) of Grace’s son, Brice, and Stanley’s arrival serves as a catalyst for a series of magical and mysterious events.

Colin Firth stars as arrogant magician, Stanley, alongside Emma Stone as the alluring Sophie. Written and directed by Woody Allen, Magic in the Moonlight is comic tale of magic, mayhem and mystery
