Haslemere Flower Club – Diamond Anniversary Show

The inaugural meeting of Haslemere Flower Club was held on 17 February 1954, at which members agreed to meet monthly, on the fourth Wednesday of each month and have continued to do so, with only a short break in 1957 due to petrol rationing! Our very first show was opened by Mrs Constance Spry on 16 May 1956.
From then the club has gone from strength to strength and so we find that in 2014 we are celebrating our ‘Diamond Anniversary’, 60 years of ‘Fun & Friendship with Flowers’.
Over the years the club has contributed much to the fabric of life in Haslemere. Every week it places a flower arrangement to brighten the entrance of Haslemere Hospital, which members take turns in organising and for National Flower Arranging Day each year displays are placed in prominent venues around the town
To celebrate its Diamond Anniversary year the club is organising a special show at Haslemere Hall, Bridge Road, Haslemere on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November 2014.
The show is entitled “A Claus for Celebration” combining beautiful arrangements for the Anniversary and for Christmas
At the preview to be held on Saturday 22nd between 6pm and 9 pm (tickets £7.50) guests will be entertained by the Haslemere Rock Choir, performing for the first time ever at Haslemere Hall.
Prizes will be presented by Guy Davenport, Chairman of the Haslemere Hall Trustees. There will be a bar and canapés will be served.
On Sunday 23rd the show will be open from 10am to 4pm (admission £5). There will be mini Christmas demonstrations at 11.30am and 2pm, refreshments, a Raffle of Christmas Hampers and a Christmas Sales Table.
