DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

This talk will discuss the battle and put it both in a wider context of why it happened with an account of what happened during the battle itself – the important decisions, the units involved, and why even after 200 years Waterloo is a name few fail to recognise.

Having had a great interest in military history and specifically the Napoleonic Wars for many years, Robert Evans, our speaker, has worked and lectured at the National Army Museum, Apsley House (the London home of the Dukes of Wellington) and the Foot Guards Museum at Wellington Barracks. He has made several visits to the field of Waterloo itself (camping in the grounds of Hougoumont in a historically-accurate canvas tent).

This talk is at the Haslemere Museum – CANCELLED
