Gwilym Simcock is one of the most gifted pianists on the British jazz scene, as demonstrated by his many awards. With a style reminiscent of Keith Jarrett, his music has been acclaimed as ‘engaging, exciting, often unexpected, melodically enthralling and wonderfully optimistic’. He regularly works across both geographic and stylistic boundaries as a solo artist and in groups from duets to big bands. Having studied classical piano, French Horn and composition followed by extensive collaboration with some of the world’s top International jazz artists, Gwilym brings an unbeatable wealth of knowledge to his solo jazz performances.

“A phenomenal talent, Simcock is a jewel in the crown of the country’s jazz scene, and it was a joy and honour to have him playing such an integral role in this year’s festival”. Rob Garratt, Norwich Evening News
