HAYDN The Creation
The Creation is an oratorio written by Haydn between 1797 and 1798. It depicts the creation of the world as described in the book of Genesis. The work is structured in three parts to be performed by a soprano, a tenor and a bass soloist, a chorus and a symphonic orchestra. The soloists in this performance will be Susan Young (soprano) Philip O’Brien (tenor) and Jon Stainsby (baritone).
Many people consider the oratorio to be Haydn’s masterpiece.
