English song through the ages from Purcell to Britten

Purcell was one of the greatest of all English composers. He lived in the 17th Century and was a prolific composer of Anthems and Songs (as well as The Fairy Queen recently revived at Glyndebourne). Benjamin Britten was one of the greatest of modern composers and this year we celebrate the centenary of his birth in 1913. Our talented soloist, Rebecca Moon, Takes us on a journey of popular songs from Purcell’s Baroque style to the (relatively) modern appeal of Britten.

This event is at St Bartholomew’s Church.

Tickets £7.50 in aid of St Bartholomew’s Organ Fund. Includes a cup of tea following the performance.
