Based on the 1980s screen sensation, the Haslemere Players are excited to be bringing Footloose, to the Haslemere stage, bursting with exuberant entertainment, music, romance and dance!

 

After moving from Chicago to backwater Bomont with his mother, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period, but not for the local laws – including a ban on dancing – the brainchild of the local preacher bent on exercising control over the town’s youths. The heartfelt story that emerges pits a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him and celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.

 

You’ll have a hard time staying in your seats through the Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score which includes the classic 80s hits Holding Out for a Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy and of course the unforgettable title track Footloose.
