The Haslemere Players are delighted to present Singin’ in the Rain, one of the most loved and celebrated musicals of all time, made famous by the 1952 film of the same name, starring the legendary Gene Kelly. This feel-good, colourful and witty show portrays the turmoil that afflicted Hollywood in the late 1920s when movies went from silent to talkies as the sound revolution swept through. The plot focuses on romantic lead Don Lockwood and his leading lady, Lina Lamont, who’s less-than-dulcet vocal tones make her an unlikely candidate for the new talking pictures….the plot thickens! Don’s sidekick, Cosmo Brown and aspiring actress and love interest, Kathy Selden complete the quartet.
