Haslemere Thespians Next Generation presents:
The Wind in the Willows, a musical comedy for the whole family
By Kenneth Grahame
Book and Lyrics by Adam Forde
Music by David Perkins
Directed by Sally Waghorn and Naomi Robertson
Music directed by Lizzie Hales
“Toad: I’ve discovered the real thing. I propose to dedicate the rest of my life to it.
Rat: Or at least the remainder of the afternoon!”
When Mole pops up into the open air, a wonderful new world full of exhilarating adventures and new friends is revealed; boating with the gentle Ratty, feasting with the noble Badger and a series of mad-cap escapades with the hilarious but reckless Mr Toad. Not to mention the dastardly Wild Wooders plotting “la Revolution’.
The audacious Mr Toad leads the friends from one adventure to another: upturned caravans, stolen motorcars, train chases. But after Toad’s daring prison escape, can they all join together and beat the sinister inhabitants lurking within the Wild Wood and save Toad Hall or has Toad really had his day?
After the success of last years “Alice”, the Next Generation (the Thespian’s company of 12-16 year old performers) tackles this exciting adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s timeless children’s classic story, with added music and a lot of laughs.
Suitable for all the family.
